Information For Participants

All of this information was sent out on an email two days ago - if you did not receive it but left your email on the facebook event please let me know so I can fix my mistake. Thanks!

Installing Your Work:
As you all should know, aside from just the studio spaces being shown there
is also wall spaces for students who didn’t reserve a studio to show their
work. These walls are the basement walls of Building 1 of the commons just
before the entrance to the studios. All of the walls intended for use are
labeled, but feel free to use whatever walls you’d like.
October 9th is approaching quickly, I ask that all of the work that is
intended to be hung on these walls be ready and installed by Friday October
7th at 11 p.m
. If anyone has any concerns about this deadline please email
me. Lighting and other methods of activating your work should be ready and
set up on Sunday October 9th at 8 p. m. This includes installation and
sculptural works that may incorporate more complex elements. I will not be
supplying any hanging material or lights, if you run into problems you can
contact me and I will do my best to help.

The wall space is on a first-come first-serve basis; so there is no
guaranteed space for everyone. The earlier you go to set up your work, the
more ideal space you’ll find.

All participants, this includes studio artists and sketchbook and print
contributors, must create a name tag for themselves and place it by their
work/studio. This should be done by Sunday October 9th at 8 p.m

**This sunday from 3-6 at the Gatehouse is your last opportunity to reserve a
studio for the opening.
I realize that the opening is on a sunday night, and that “owners” of the
studio spaces may change on that sunday- but I ask that those of us who get
new studios on that day be respectful of the opening and wait to move their
things or ask others to move their things until the next day. Thank you.

*I can not be held responsible for any harm caused to your work; Although, I
really doubt anything will happen.

Call for video-makers/print-makers/sketchbook-makers:
All students who have videos they’d like to be shown please email Caitlin at
Cnreid1@gmail.com. Include you attached video with your name, title of work,
and a little bit about the work (if you’d like).

We have also started collecting sketchbooks! Everyone is invited to
participate. Please email Michael at Muckotter@mica.edu for more information
on how to get your sketchbook in the show.

All students who wish to share prints (photography or printmaking) must also
email Michael and specify the amount of table space they anticipate needing.
These students will need to sit by their prints for at least part of the
night. This work will be arranged on the day of the opening, please
anticipate more information coming soon from Michael.

Documentation:
I am still looking for a group of people to assemble a monthly zine about
each individual opening. The zine will include photos and critiques of
interesting work, interviews with students, and whatever else you’d like to
write about. So far some people have expressed mild interest but I am still
looking for someone to be in charge of this particular project. The other
positions I am looking for currently include a photographer of the event,
students who want to write about the work, and students who know how to/want
to assemble the zine (I can help show you all how to if necessary). Please
email if interested.

Promotion:
I need help promoting!! Please spread the word to your friends and print
copies of the flyers posted on the tumblr page. This will only be as good as
we make it to be.

Food:
If you are participating please help bring some food to the party, I realize
no one has any money (myself included) but, lets figure this out!
